So i've worked on my own incomplete projects before, But i think i love making music than art for videogames nowadays.
(I have my own game i'm trying to develop with a partner on the side, but things are very slow due to how busy our lives are.)
Here's a full list of samples for a game i was working on a year ago.
That music above, was created for a very specific kind of wacky weird flying shooter game. Most of that was going to be menu music, But the more high energy stuff was actually going to be used at appropriate times in the game. It's intentionally going for more of a dance music vibe with the added Claps, Snares, Drums and Kicks. Of course depending on what the project is, The music style would be entirely different. Know that i made that music roughly 9-8 months ago, I consider it very out of date.
The styles i enjoy creating and will do best in are Atmospheric, Synth, Rock influences & Retro styled music. Including a type of sound quality that sounds like it was created in a older studio, But that's just specifically my preference for my own songs.
Another sample of something more cinematic below.
Process: My goals generally for making music per song are, Making sure that each track is unique enough on it's own- through the entire song. I usually don't like repetitive parts in music (unless they are stretched or changed enough of course). The process in which i make the songs are mainly in Fruity Loops where i create the loops them selves, But i mainly construct the 'entire' song in Sony Vegas for transitioning and final editing. It may lose a extremely minuscule amount of audio quality, But i find it the best way for me to actually put the music together.
All though my computer is literally a Dell Potatoe® from 2010, I try my best to utilize sound design over all- since fruityloops can occasionally freeze if i have to much going on. Which i think has actually benefited me for it.
(I enjoy console games and don't make a lot of money with my retail job, I'll be getting a better PC hopefully with my incometax next year.)
Time: As far as timeline goes and the creation of whole album sets. That can vary depending on my own availability. Oddly enough i can spend a entire week on a song to actually finishing one up as a complete song withing 24 hours. Due to making music in the same constructive formula constantly (Fruityloops> Sony vegas> Final editing & composition) Which means depending on how much free time i have and the style, a entire album can be done anywhere between 3 months or 3 weeks. All though if i am properly compensated of course i can make a music project a high priority.
Compensation: It would vary and entirely depend on the project it's self, One of the main reasons i'm doing this is so i can make some extra money. But i would definitely be up for working something out for a fair or even below average price due to having to no current history with other projects besides my own. If you just happen to like my music and are a very small team with inexperience- and i like your project. More than likely i'll do it for free.
Essentially, I've been making some great progress over the years. I'm still learning by each song i make, but i feel like i drastically improve by each song as well. If your interested in working with me contact me at musicdvotr@gmail.com and i'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Here is my latest song and probably my favorite so far, Made in under 12 hours.
