For a strategy game which evolves through historic eras like civilisation or rise of nations, I thought of 8 periods with around a dozen units for each period. I wanted your feedback on whether I am missing some important periods, units or even types of units.
The game is TBS/RTS hybrid. Air combat and naval combat is going to be on the turn based side only. Ground combat is going to be real time with possibility of external bombing from close air/naval units on the turn based map. The game will have one generic human faction.
Each period has core gameplay units (infantry, support, cavalry, anti-cav),and some special "cameo" units. Some units repeat in the late periods because their roles resemble a lot, but their stats and art will match their period.
